Illegal pratice of selling sim cards to tourists. We purchased a card 160TL for 30 days 25gb 250 sms 750 mins. Cards have to be registered to a person and if you are a tourist you have to show your passport where the date of entry into turkey is registered. Tourists can be in Turkey for 90 days so the sim card will finish/ deactivate after 90 days. This shop decides most tourist will not be here that long and sold us a sim card already registered 2 weeks before we arrived. ...BUT....We were here for 90 days and 2 weeks before our 90 days was up turkcell send us a sms to say the card will finish. We called the shop and they said sometimes Turkcell switch off the card early maybe 70 -80 days. We called 532 and they confirm this is not the case, cards do work for 90 days and also they told us the card was registered in someone elses name. We will be going in to the store when we are back in Antalya to speak with the manager face to face about their conduct in selling already activated cards. We will post again with what they do to compensate us .
