Sublime Porte Hotel

Had a great stay and the best part was that the staff were beyond helpful and accommodating.Had a little trouble with the noisy air con but quickly got a room fan. The place itself is quite noisy so would bring earplugs.Close to lots of attractions like the blue mosque so is a great base.Basic rooms and shower but did the job! Lighting not great in the Garden rooms, just as a heads up for my makeup pals.Breakfast was lovely!!!! Big bonus.

Very nice place.Every room is very cosy and stylish independently of your choice by price/view. Everything is clean in the room. Breakfast is quite hearty. Personal speaks English well and is ready to help you 24hrs a day.We stayed in two different rooms and were very satisfied by this hotel.

If I had to rate this place on customer service it would be a 4/5 but I have to speak truly about everything else. Check in was flawless, host and staff are so kind, accommodating and flexible that I feel bad for having to write the reality. The rooms are not what they are advertised. We had the ocean front upgraded room and while it had a nice view, it was very smelly from the sewage. It could have been cleaner as well ( there were hairs in our shower when we checked in). It was extremely noisy every night we stayed there with construction early in the mornings . I asked if we could use the safe in the room but they said that none of their safes work but it was safe in the hotel. I do agree I felt safe and it was safe but they also left the front door open at night with very little watch throughout the night so that could have gone either way. They do not provide you with daily service such as new towels,linens. For the price… I wouldn’t recommend

Despite the super attentive staff, the hotel is in desperate need of attention. upon arriving the first impression is of a completely abandoned place, dirt everywhere right at the entrance. When checking In, payment in cash is required, even though the pre-booking was made via Expedia, on the credit card, which doesn't sound any good. The same bags that were in the “reception” ,which is nothing more than a table with a laptop, remained in the same place 3 days later. Upon arriving in the room, another disappointment, the photos are completely false, old or at least with a very strong use of photoshop (there are photos with a view of the Hagia Sofia on the website (expedia, booking, etc), which would be physically IMPOSSIBLE, given the location). Amenities of the worst possible quality, towels that looked more like rags, of how old they were. Breakfast that is mentioned on the booking sites is non-existent, you pay for a service that does not exist. There's no peace or quietness, the windows don't have curtains, so if your room faces the staircase (as was mine) people on the street can see all your comes and goings. After a long day exploring the city, when returning to the hotel, the employee is more concerned with making advances to female guests than paying any attention to you. This was my worst hotel experience, I just didn't change hotels due to the lack of vacancies in others, due to a religious holiday in Turkey. Will never go back and encourage anyone to make better use of their time and money

This is a perfectly located and comfortable hotel. Just a few minutes walk from the Bosporus and a few minutes walk to Hagia Sofia and The Blue Mosque. It is far enough away from the street with the bars and restaurants that it is also quiet. My room also faces the stairs talked about in other reviews but the room has shutters to maintain privacy. The breakfast is a typical Turkish breakfast and the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. The staff here go out of their way to make your stay wonderful. They arranged our rides to and from the airport. They also arranged a nice Turkish bath for us and gave recommendations to restaurants and sites to see. We had a mix up with rooms when we arrived and although frustrating things do happen. What is important is how Emrah and his team reacted. They found a way to accommodate our family even though we had to move around a little but also offered compensation in return for the situation. So if you travel to Istanbul we would recommend to stay here. Great location and quiet area but close to all you want to see and do. Thank you Emrah, Hakkan and team! Stay in room 7 or 8 if you can for amazing views of the Bosporus.
