OMEGA

Just returned from an amazing weekend in Istanbul. Incredible city. Lovely people.The only problem was that my return flight was very, very early in the morning. I resigned myself to having to spend a few hours in an airport terminal where (doubtless) everything would be closed. I was amazed to find that ALL the shops and restaurants were open. This is how I came across the Omega Boutique in Istanbul Airport.I recently decided to treat myself to a watch to mark my 50th birthday. My initial instinct was to return to Rolex - I had four Rolexes in my 20s and 30s. But, I was shocked by all the craziness that has now attached itself to trying to purchase a new Rolex. My first ‘nice’ watch was the ‘Goldeneye’ Omega 300m almost 30 years ago, so I am no stranger to the brand.I spent a very enjoyable quarter of an hour or so in the Omega Boutique with Hasim and his female colleague (apologies for not remembering her name but she was as knowledgeable about Omega as Hasim was).I am almost 99% certain that the Ploprof will be my 50th Birthday Present to myself. And it would be my intention to give the sale to Hasim.My compliments to all concerned!
