Eye Turkish Language Center

Ich persönlich kann die Sprachschule in Izmir wirklich nur empfehlen! Nach dem Anfangstest (der freilich meinen Anfängerstatus bestätigte) startete unsere Gruppe, bestehend aus sechs Personen. Unsere Lehrerin war sehr freundlich & kompetent und der Unterricht machte Spaß! Und ich habe einen guten Einblick in die türkische Sprache gewonnen. Nicht nur die Menschen in der Schule, sondern auch generell die Einwohner Izmir waren sehr hilfsbereich, als ich die Stadt in den Nachmittagsstunden per Bus, Dolmuş, Fähre oder U-Bahn erkundetet. Die Unterkunft, ich habe bei einer Gastfamilien gewohnt, war wunderbar - die Gastgeberin sehr zuvorkommend & eine gute Köchin! So bleibt mir nichts anderes als zu sagen: çok teşekkür ederim

I stayed in İzmir for 4 weeks in November for the Intensive course. Since it's not the best season for visiting Turkey, there were only a few students at school. In the first week, we had 3 students and from the next week, we had 2. And in the last week, I was the only one and they cut some lessons in return for offering private lessons. Because of the total number of students, school never had an event such as a short trip, which was disappointing but still understandable. My teacher was well experienced, great teacher and I liked her classroom a lot. In terms of the classroom itself, I was really satisfied and I could tell the improvement of my Turkish skills after almost 4 weeks course.However, I gave only 3 stars for the review because of the accommodation. I paid almost 800 euros and stayed with a host family, but I would not say the house met my expectations. The room was so tiny and there's no desk so I had to ask the family if I can use the salon every time I did homework, which was a bit uncomfortable. Also, Even though I paid for two meals a day, they never prepared me breakfast and I had to buy some food to feed myself. School is kind of far so I had to walk 35 minutes every day to get there.Besides, the school gave me totally wrong information about the family. According to the information I got first, my family should have been a lady living alone but I ended up finding that she lived with her two children (both grown-up) so including me, 4 adults lived in a tiny apartment. The son could speak decent level of English, so I had no problem with communicating with them, however I somehow got an impression that they were offering the stay just for financial reasons. But all negative things I wrote about the stay above are understandable as well, given that the family got only 200 euros out of 800 I paid, and it seemed like the school took the rest, which is unfair and ridiculous.All in all, I'd never recommend you to stay with a host family offered by the school. And even if I have a chance to come back to İzmir, I'd never go to this school, because apparently they do not manage things well.Update (Jan/10/2020)It seems like the school read my review and cut the family out of their host family list, which is sad. They should've changed their management style.

The teachers are very professional and you'll have a lot of fun learning Turkish with them. My teacher Rüya is great! I can recommend to come here to improve your language skills in the middle of one of the most relaxed neighbourhoods of Izmir.The school that I went to was in a different location though, in 1811 sokak.

Basic introduction problems. I went to the address provided here. It’s an apartment building. Not sure about the photos that are included. I looked over the entire neighborhood and found nothing similar.The School needs to update the address and information here on Google.I think the school is a one or two person operation. There is no Turkish language classroom according to the teacher. They use another facility. This is, again according to the teacher, due to lack of students during COVID.That said, the plus was that the teacher was more than willing to meet and help. She also was willing to provide an AirBnB apartment close to the area. She was gracious when I told her I was choosing another more formal school setting, and offered any futur help.I would recommend this school if you have more planning time, and when they update information.

Alles war super, Rüya ist eine tolle Lehrerin gewesen und ich fühlte mich durchweg gut begleitet und der Unterricht war sehr verständlich. Rüya ist auf alle meine Fragen eingegangen und konnte alle Inhalte verständlich vermitteln. Bin gerne auch beim nächsten Kurs wieder bei Eye Turkish Language Center mit dabei :)

I really enjoyed my stay at the TLC in Izmir, a 1 week intensive course in August 2012.I stayed at a family's place close to the school with another student, which was an excellent experience.We were 6 students in the beginners/false beginners class and as far as I can tell all of us made very good progress.The teachers use the Direct Method and try to use native language for teaching; however they also have a very good command of English in case you have questions or need clarifications.The facility is modern and comfortable and close to many other sites like supermarkets, train station, restaurants, ferry, etc.Thank you TLC, I hope I will come back soon enough, I want to learn Turkish!I had to learn a foreign language and write a report for my studies and I chose EYE TLC in Izmir. I'm very happy I made that choice.I recommend the EYE Turkish Language Center.

I really enjoyed the 3-week Turkish Course in which the focus was on speaking. I now feel more confident to use Turkish for daily conversation.Even though the course was online I learned a lot.The teacher was very friendly, competent and patient and as we were a small group the lessons felt like speaking to your friends.We could choose ourselves which grammar topics etc. we wanted to focus on and the teacher prepared the lesson accordingly. This way we got the most out of the course. I also liked that we could ask questions/ suggest what we wanted to focus after the lessons.On most days we should do a small written homework that helped consolidate the grammar topic we had learned that day and generally expanded our vocabulary. I appreciated how carefully the teacher corrected each sentence we wrote.All in all, I looked forward to every day of the course.

I really enjoyed my language course at TLC. Although everything was online due to the pandemic, the lessons exceeded my expectations by far and I now feel much more confident regarding both my written and spoken Turkish. I really enjoyed the small size of the group, which made learning so much more effective and the pleasant atmosphere during lessons! Go for it, if you have any interest in learning Turkish or improving the skills you already have!

Ich habe im August/September 2021 einen dreiwöchigen Anfänger*innen-Türkischsprachkurs bei Nurcan gemacht. Der Kurs war sehr gut und hat viel Spaß gemacht. Nurcan ist auf alle Fragen eingegangen und hat so viel es ging wiederholt. Sie war sehr hilfsbereit und hat jeden und jede in den Kurs und in die Gespräche einbezogen. Das hat mir sehr gut gefallen!

I had a really great experience thanks to my teacher Rüya! She explained everything slowly, she was really friendly with the class and she gave answers to all the questions we had! The other teachers were probably great too but I only saw them in the morning and when I left. The location well connected to the Izban and also to shops, restaurants, bars etc.The school trips we took were awesome and I learned a lot about Turkey and Izmir which am greatly thankful for. The only thing that's missing for a fifth star is space in the classroom. We were nine people in a very small room and at times it was difficult to write down stuff easily or go to the toilet quietly. That's really the only downside to it which is almost nothing at all.
